Downloading & Installing Windower

1. Click this link to visit the Windower site.
2. 
   Click "Download Windower 4.0".
3. 
   Click "Save File".
4. 
   Choose a location to save the file, then click "Save".
5. 
   Navigate to the location where the file was saved, and double-click it.
6. 
   When prompted to allow the file to make changes to your computer, click "Yes".
7. 
   Click "I Agree".
8. 
   Click "Next".
9. 
   Click "Install".
10. 
    When it finishes copying files, click "Next >".
11. 
    Click "Finish".
12. 
    Find the Windower icon on your desktop and double-click it. You should close any running instances of FFXI before doing so.
13. 
    When prompted to allow the file to make changes to your computer, click "Yes".
14. 
    A splash screen will appear while Windower downloads updates for itself.

Configuring Windower Settings

1. 
   Click the "Edit" button at the bottom-left.
2. 
   Click the box under "Console Key", then press a key on your keyboard that you want to use to toggle the Windower console in-game. I suggest using [F12]; the default is [Insert]. Set the resolution to your liking. Under "Window Mode", click "Window". I do not recommend using "Borderless Window", as it is difficult to move.

   Click the "Game" tab, then click the slider under "Super Sampling" to turn it on.
4. 
   Click the "Advanced" tab, and toggle "Error Log" and "IPC Log" to "On".
5. 
   Click the arrow at the top-left to return to the profile choice screen. Note that these settings are profile-specific, so you can have multiple settings configurations.

Installing Addons & Plugins

1. 
   Click the "Addons" tab along the top to view available addons. Addons are open-source enhancements for Windower, written in a scripting language called Lua. To install an addon, click the download icon to the right of its name.
2. 
   After it downloads, it will automatically be set to load. You can toggle it on and off with the button that replaced the download icon.
3. 
   Click the "Plugins" tab along the top to view available plugins. Plugins are closed-source enhancements for Windower. They can be installed and toggled the same way as addons.
